July Update – Backer’s custom Dinosaurs & 1 Creature Swap

Hey Everyone,

Progress is steaming ahead for Professor Primula’s Portfolio of Palaeontology. We’ve gotten about 60 of the stat blocks really polished and ready for our playtesters and are up to 44 of scientific profiles written.

All in all, I’d say we’re about 60% of the way there and aren’t slowing down!

There is still refining and editing to go, but we’re really pleased with where we’re at. Who knows, we might even release ahead of schedule.

Creature Swap

Due to a miscommunication on my part with one of our artists, we’ve ended up with an extra illustration – a beautiful full-page illustration of Anomalocaris. Boo-hoo, what a terrible problem to have!

We’ve discussed this internally and think that it would be best to use this for a creature stat block, rather than filler art, so our beloved Anomalocaris will be joining the book! However, it is likely that we’ll need to swap out another creature to do so. We’ve opted to put the Woolly Mammoth on the chopping block for now but will review this when our pagination is finalised. Hopefully, we’ll be able to include both.

Backer’s Custom Dinosaurs

It’s time to reveal the full list of Backer’s Custom Dinosaurs. These are creatures that our highest tier backers requested as part of their pledges. We’re extremely thankful for their phenomenal contribution to our project.

Skeletal Tyrannosaurus by Tyler Bond

If we’re introducing a museum running mechanic, you’ve gotta have you associated animated Tyrannosaur to haunt your museum at night. We thought that this was going to be outside of the scope of what we could fit in the book, but thankfully Tyler had the exact same thought as us!

Nessie, Spirit of the Loch (Boss Plesiosaur) by “Cindere Fell”

Cindere made an outstanding request for the legendary Loch Ness Monster. What a treat this is to be able to include in our book and we’ve been designing some suitably mysterious rules to match this mythological animal’s curious history.

Dreadfoot, Protector of the Hunted (Boss Brachiosaurus) by Diana Lester

Dreadfoot is a monstrous undead boss Brachiosaurus that inhabits swampy biomes. This is going to be a proper-fantasy big boss creature, and we’re really excited to bring it to your games – A great choice Diana!

Tenontosaurus by Kevin Lauck

A curveball choice of Tenontosaurus by Kevin had Dr O’Sullivan bouncing off of the walls. This is an animal that he initially pitched as a favourite to include, but I turned him down. I cannot describe how over-joyed he was when Kevin requested it.

Troodon by “The Jellyfish”

The sneaky Troodon is coming in Professor Primula’s! The validity of this animal has been called into question over the last few years, but the latest research has it back in the game. So, that’s where we’re bringing it too! We’ll do our best to do this fan-favourite justice.

Dr Dhrolin’s 5E Books

All of the physical copies of Dr Dhrolin’s should now be delivered (or will be delivered in the next day or two) unless we’ve contacted you with a query. Sorry that this ended up taking so long, but there were a huge number of extra hoops to jump through with using our new distributor and a lot of surprise problems… like a country-wide postal strike in Canada. Anyway, the good news is that we’re over that hump!

Pathfinder Dr Dhrolin’s Now in stock!

On a similar note, we’ve now moved our stock of the Pathfinder version of Dr Drholin’s from our old warehouse to our new distributor, meaning that the Pathfinder versions of Dr Dhrolin’s are available on our webstore!
