Hey Everyone,

I hope that you’ve all been keeping well. We’ve been (as always) wildly busy. We’ve got some major updates, so please check out the details below.

Book & DMs Screen in Print!

Physical copies of the book and DMs screen are now in press. It’ll take about 5 more weeks before they’re finished, as we’re having a very large number printed. We’ll soon be unlocking everyone’s address so that you can update/check them before we re-lock them in preparation for shipping.

Again, these are manufactured locally in the UK, so there's no long wait on importing them.

Dice & Pin Badges.

We’ve had the samples for our dice and pin badges. Some of the stuff is excellent, but other parts aren’t quite up to scratch. We’ve requested some changes before mass production starts. I’m afraid that we’re unsure of exactly how long it will take to get these right, but we’d rather take our time and ship a final product that is excellent.

Shipping Prices & Charges

Once the dice are manufactured and with the distributor, we’ll be able to calculate the final cost of shipping and issue charges appropriately. Please be aware that this charge is coming and ensure that your bank/payment method is expecting it. We’ll announce it beforehand so that you can ensure that you have funds in your respective accounts to cover it. Again, as said before, increases in fuel surcharges will result in a higher-than-predicted shipping fee. Nevertheless, we’ll keep it as low as we possibly can.

DinoCon 2026

DinoCon 2026 was PHENOMENAL. Honestly, the best convention yet. Check out some of the photos below showing off key bits. If you were there, thanks for joining us! Hopefully, more will be able to join us next year!

June 2026 Update

Hey everyone,

We hope you’ve been keeping well. This update is a bit early as we’ve been making excellent progress this month. Without further ado:

PDF V1.1 IS HERE

Thank you to everyone who provided feedback and helped spot some errors. We’ve also decided to make a small number of changes to some of the stat blocks, based on feedback from the wider player base. So, please do indeed download the new version – it’s an improvement on v1.0. You’ll shortly get an email from Backerkit saying that your files have been updated.

For those of you who purchased the PDF on our webstore, that’ll be updated too. Again, you’ll get a notification to download a new version.

Digital Tokens, Battlemaps, Character sheet

The other digital stretch goal rewards are now complete and you’ll get a notification from Backerkit that they can also be downloaded from your Digital Rewards page. We’re pretty happy with how these turned out and hope you are too. We'll be adding these to our webstore later this week too.

I’m afraid that there is some sad news with these. After exporting the gridded versions of the battlemaps, the packaged asset folders for two of them corrupted. If just the maps had corrupted, then we could have used backups we made, but as the assets themselves corrupted, we can’t reload those specific maps or their backups. This means that we’re not able to provide the non-gridded versions of some of these maps, so have opted to only provide the gridded versions for all of them.

Foundry VTT Module

The assets have now all been passed to our Foundry partners to begin construction of the VTT module. More on that to follow at a later date.

Updates on physical goods

Tomorrow the draft DM’s screen is due to arrive here for us to review. All being well, those will start production very soon. We’re also just waiting on a paper delivery to the factory for the books themselves be ready to move to production. There’s no rush currently with the books as we want to make sure that we had community feedback before finalising the print version. Either v1.1 will go to print, or v1.2 will if more feedback is gathered.

We’re still waiting to hear on an update for the dice, pin badges, art prints, etc. It is possible that some of these components end up delayed for the reason discussed below, but we’ll keep you in the loop if it looks like that is going to happen. Currently, we haven’t been informed that there is any delay.

A pre-warning about shipping costs

As those of you following the news will know, the Strait of Hormuz have been closed (again), causing further delays and disruption to global oil, gas, and fertiliser distribution. Our distributors have warned that we’re likely to see sudden jet fuel surcharges as a result. Currently, the estimation is 15%, but we’ll keep you in the loop as things continue to progress.

Thanks for your patience as I know this update is a little bit late this month. There is good reason for that however! That is because we were taking a few extra days to prep for the launch of the PDF version of Professor Primula’s Portfolio of Palaeontology!

 That’s right – the PDF IS HERE!

You should all have received a link to download your copy directly from Backerkit.

We’ve also created an editable feedback document so that all of you can highlight errors, typos, or interactions that you think may not work as intended. We always listen to all feedback and consider it, so please do let us know if you spot something!

Other digital rewards like the Battlemaps, Character Sheet, and Tokens are still to come. It'll probably take us a few weeks to get those out. 

Once again, we are unbelievably grateful to all of you for helping us make this dream a reality. We're so happy that we get to create this stuff and share it with you. So please, once you get it, let us know what you think!

Hi Everyone,

I hope that you’ve all been keeping well over the last. The whole team here is sleepily recovering from a big celebration weekend at the end of the month. It was the first time that we’ve been able to gather together as one big group since we founded PalaeoGames, all in celebration of the successful D&D Beyond launch (pictured below, again!).

The main update!

We’ve had a busy month of proofreading and are nearly finished. It’ll probably be a few weeks more before we’ve have the final version, but I suspect that we’ll be expecting a version 1.0 of Professor Primula’s Portfolio of Palaeontology around the end of this month or early next month.

We do have a very busy month lined up with things ramping up for DinoCon 2026, so it’s possible that proofreading bleeds into next month.

What is DinoCon?

If you haven’t heard of our other company – DinoCon – check it out HERE. It’s a palaeontology-themed annual convention run in the UK by me and a team of other scientists, researchers, and artists. We’ve got an outstanding lineup this year and the event is being held in the prestigious Hilton Birmingham Metropole, so you can expect a high-quality experience.

Anyway, that’s all for now. Just a brief update this month.
